- Christopher Hellman is communications liaison at the National Priorities Project in Northampton, Massachusetts. Chris was previously a military policy analyst for the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, a Senior Research Analyst at the Center for Defense Information, and spent ten years on Capitol Hill as a congressional staffer working on national security and foreign policy issues. His most recent article is, “Putting the Pentagon on a Diet; Will Bad Times and a Bad Economy Finally Discipline the Pentagon?”
- Eyal Press is a Schwartz Fellow at the New America Foundation. Eyal wrote the 2006 book, “Absolute Convictions: My Father, a City, and the Conflict That Divided America” (Henry Holt), a narrative account of the abortion wars that racked the city of Buffalo, New York. He is currently writing a book about conscientious objectors and moral dissent. We’ll be speaking with Eyal about his recent article, “Israel’s Holy Warriors.”
- Ben Austen is a contributing editor to Harper’s Magazine. Ben’s front-page article for Harper’s latest edition is, “In the loop: Obama’s hometown takes Washington.”
- Alfred McCoy is the J.R.W. Small Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison). Alfred’s latest book is, “Policing America’s Empire: The United States, the Philippines, and the Rise of the Surveillance State” (University of Wisconsin Press). His most recent writing includes the articles, “America and the Dictators: From Ngo Dinh Diem to Hamid Karzai” and Can Anyone Pacify the World’s Number One Narco-State?: The Opium Wars in Afghanistan.”
