This is Hell! broadcast an abbreviated one-hour live program this past Saturday, September 11, 2010, on Chicago’s WNUR 89.3 FM. The show is podcast here as well as the above links

Last weekend, your bitter blind broke gap-toothed radio show host Chuck Mertz spent nearly the entire hour speaking with the one, the only Noam Chomsky.

Noam once said he “really enjoyed” This is Hell! “Particularly glad to hear that there is a voice of sanity on talk radio. I don’t hear talk radio much, but when I do, it’s pretty appalling.”

This is Hell! had the first live interview with Noam Chomsky following 9/11.

Noam has a new book coming out in November. Co-authored with past This is Hell! guest Ilan Pappe, the book is entitled, “Gaza in Crisis: Reflections on Israel’s War Against the Palestinians” (Penguin).

Come on guys, how come Itunes only shows a podcast that works for August 7th, then a messed up one for the 14th, and nothing since then? I want my Hell…

  • Chuck Mertz

All of our podcasts are available here at our site. You do NOT need to go to iTunes or anywhere else.

Hell, you can scroll up six inches and see the link.

However, we will be addressing the iTunes problem shortly.

the issue i have is i can't get the podcasts onto my i pod unless i get them from itunes…unless there is something i am missing?

  • John Krumm

Thank you Chuck. I know I can access your podcasts on the site. But since they are just links to mp3 files, there's no casting involved, and I have to download the thing, dump it on my ipod, and then it's listed as a song mixed in with all the bad music I have (the ipod is not smart enough to recognize it as a “podcast” unless it comes through an Itunes feed).

I made a 'This Is Hell' playlist in iTunes so that I can drag the downloaded mp3 files there, then I can find them more easily on my iPod.
You can transform an mp3 into a podcast once it is in iTunes by changing the “Media Kind” from the “Option” tab on its “Info” window.
