Torture Is As American As Apple Pie

Americans don’t want to hear bad news about our boys in blue. We accept police torture as a reality because we feel, that it some way it makes us safer and protects our interests.

But actually neither of these things are true. Because when the police oppresses a community- it hurts everyone. When people are living in fearcrime goes up, violence goes up and nobody’s safe- including the police.

Or maybe I’m wrong and this isn’t about race.

Maybe the fine People of Chicago, no America, share the same thoughts on torture as President Obama, and I quote, “…we need to look forward as opposed to looking backward.

Looking back? How about looking forward!?

Torture happens every day in the jail cells of America. Hell we eat it up! It’s even the subject of our best TV…

Torture is as American As Apple Pie.

But I’m not okay with that. That’s why on May 24th at 8:30am, I’ll be at Daley Plaza with hundereds of others to demand that he sees justice for his crimes. And I hope you’ll join us,

Cordially in your face-
but still cordially,

Spencer “Thunderball” Thayer!

Torture is most certainly -not- as American as Apple Pie.

If you asked a room full of Americans how many of them love racist police torture against Black people, only a handful of States Attorneys, a smattering of cops and crop of assorted White Sox fans would raise their hands.

If you asked that same room full of Americans if they loved Apple Pie, they would -ALL- raise their hands, and the ones who did not would be lying, and they would probably by in the RCP and would not want to admit that they loved anything as iconoclastically American as Apple Pie. But, inside you know they want some of that flaky sweet goodness, and with ice cream.

So please.. check your facts, and your heart.
